October Edition
Tina's Top Five: October Edition
Tina’s exclusive edit of what she’s all about this month, from shoes that purr to her co-designed dream bag to the ideal un-statement coat, right in time to take the edge off what’s been ubiquitously dubbed the spooky season.
1. The Feline Flat
"It wouldn’t be October without the appearance of a black cat and these subtle kitten flats are just the right amount of naughty and nice. Designed by my dear friend and designer Nicky Hilton, who also happens to be the current consummate queen of the ballet flat, they come in plush black velvet and feature mesh eyes for a peekaboo effect and a delicate whisker topline. The result: An update on easy, everyday ballet flats that are all trick and no treat."
Available at Nicky Hilton.
2. The Gloss Over
"I might be wearing a mask, but that doesn’t mean I’m willing to quit my harmless lip gloss addiction...which is back in full effect, ever since I discovered Mary Kay’s decidedly non-sticky formula. Honestly, I’ve never found a lip gloss as simultaneously shiny and smooth as this one. Maybe because it’s made with patent-pending technology (which you might know I’m all about!). My shade of choice? Fancy Nancy, a subtly shimmering coral that compliments my skin tone and reads seasonless. It’s my new go-to, whether I need an extra pick-me-up ahead of a Zoom meeting or my lips are craving some high-wattage shine."
Available at Mary Kay.
3. The Natural Wonder
"It’s my mixed-media fantasy come true: I couldn’t be happier with one of the latest releases from my ongoing collaboration with Nancy Gonzalez. Meet the Lily, a chevron-print convertible top-handle bag, featuring a removable shoulder strap, for total versatility. Inspired by my global travels and Nancy’s Colombian heritage, the chevron-esque graphics are actually directly inspired by paleolithic hieroglyphics. Crocodile and raffia come together to luxuriously natural effects and best of all, the skins are ethically sourced from sustainable farms with 25% released back in the wild to sustain the species."
Available at Saks Fifth Avenue.
4. The Lovely Spoonful
"Along with green tea and hydrolyzed collagen, a key element of my morning routine is extra virgin olive oil. But not just any kind: Philippos Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is my favorite, thanks to its palatably sweet taste and top-notch quality. A spoonful on an empty stomach multiplies the beneficial effects of this so-called liquid gold. It stirs the digestive process, fights constipation, activates the liver and gallbladder, protects the endogenous antioxidant system and has a heart-healthy effect. No wonder it’s earned the title of the healthiest fat on earth (and trust me, don’t be deterred by the word fat. We need healthy fats!)."
Available at Gourmet-Med.
5. The Great Gray Coat
"Equal parts clean and cozy, Max Mara’s un-basic wool coat is an autumn must. A midi-wrap style with a shawl collar and kimono sleeves welcomes some creative layering, while you have the option to wear it cinched, with its matching belt, or swingy and loose. Hand-stitched pure double wool is hard to resist, but I’ll be honest: It’s the color that has me fixated. Max Mara deemed the hue “sand,” but it strikes me as more of a supremely neutral gray. Or more specifically, the color of U Beauty’s signature logo. What can I say! I love to be on-brand. It doesn’t hurt that this shade is arguably the most wearable of all."
Available at Max Mara.
