“I wanted to make a color that makes you want to make out with someone,” says Tinx, aka “TikTok’s older sister,” as she’s fondly known to her 1.5 million followers, “A color that just looks good on everybody—like your lips but better.”

Of course, she’s talking about the limited-edition PLASMA Lip Compound she co-created with U Beauty. And naturally, the mega-influencer, content creator, New York Times bestselling author of The Shift, and podcast host (her show "It's Me Tinx" is on SiriusXM) nailed it: Rom Com is the ultimate just-kissed lip shade.

Inspired by Tinx’s romantic (mis)adventures, lifelong affinity for romantic comedies, and her admitted obsession with having juicy-soft lips, Rom Com is the perfect universally flattering pink that’s kind of girly but not too sweet.

“I've loved U Beauty since I was first introduced to the brand a couple of years ago. Everything just works as it says it does, and that is so rare these days.” she says of how our first-ever collab came to be. “I love how all the products work together and how I can just trust they’re going to deliver. It was an honor to collaborate on my favorite product, The PLASMA.”

Here, in special Protocol interview, Tinx shares along with some her best beauty advice, from the value of facial icing to her (not so) guilty self-care pleasures: 

What inspired the shade?
I like a pretty pink soft lip—something that you can really wear at any time and dress up or down with different liners. I wanted to make it like your lips but better.

What about the name Rom Com?
Everyone knows I am obsessed with rom-coms. I always have one in the background. I'm obsessed with love stories and most of all, obsessed with all of the nineties queens who acted in rom-coms. It’s also about to be the most romantic fun time of the year, whether you’re coupled up or single.

When do you like to wear Rom Com?
It truly is an all day-into-night color. I either wear it on its own in the morning or if I’m going out, I’ll put a liner on. It’s very versatile. It just looks good on everybody, and it’s obviously so hydrating at the same time.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
I tongue-scrape and brush my teeth, then chug a liter of water. 

Describe your morning and evening skincare routines.
It really depends on where I am in the world, but in the morning, I love to dunk my face in a bowl of ice and then do some skincare. Usually the Resurfacing Compound and then The SUPER Hydrator, but it really depends on how my skin is that day.

What's the last thing you do before you go to bed? 
Put on The PLASMA! I have a really big thing about waking up with soft lips.I have tried all of the overnight lip masks and all of the stereotypical lip products out there and to be honest none of them blew me away.

When I started using The PLASMA, I noticed an actual difference. Especially when I use it overnight or I get on a plane and it actually stays on for ages.

Who’s your beauty idol?
Sienna Miller 

What’s the most high-maintenance aspect of your beauty protocol? 
Probably just how much I love treatments. I love a facial. I love a microneedling. I love a laser. I love all of that stuff. I just live to spa.

What’s the best piece of beauty advice you’ve gotten?
I don’t know where I heard it, but someone told me that you shouldn’t wash your face in the morning and it’s literally changed my life.

What’s your 24-hour plan for getting ready for a big event or photoshoot? 
I try to stay in the night before and have an early dinner so I digest and go to bed. I love to have the Sakara Detox tea. Feel like it makes me beautiful. 

I also try to do an exfoliating mask and take a bath the night before and drink a lot of water, of course, with electrolytes.

What do you do when you want to reset, regroup, or detox?
I’m with lymphatic drainage massages. I would literally get a facial or a massage every single day of my life if I could.

What’s your favorite way to let loose and have fun? 
I love to go out with my friends and dance and have a couple of Aperol Spritzes!
