Actor. Writer Model. Creator. Citizen of the world. A myriad of titles apply to Marta Pozzan, yet she doesn't fall into a single category or under a particular label. Perhaps because the rather prolific Renaissance woman refuses to be restricted to any preconceived notions you may have about her.
Born in Vicenza, Italy, Marta, who's of German and Austrian descent, moved to London at the age of 19 to study at Central Saint Martins. The globetrotter's next move: Los Angeles, where she graduated from the Lee Strasberg Institute. Since then, Marta has expanded her ample portfolio with a number of creative projects and embarked on partnerships with Bulgari, Dior, Kenzo, Chopard, Fendi, and Marc Jacobs, to name a few.
Currently calling LA home, Marta is nurturing a budding film career (credits include 2021's "A Dark Foe" with Selma Blair, as well as "Next One," a short film addressing female abuse in the entertainment industry that she co-wrote, produced, and stars in) and contributes to publications, proving she's also not afraid to tell it like it is. Her article, pointedly titled "Why Do People Say Things They Don't Mean?" and published on Poosh last year, explores the all too human (and too common) compulsion to make plans we have no intention of keeping and call people "nice" when we don't even know them.
Did we mention Marta is fluent in three languages and has a degree in Literature and Philosophy? If you're feeling a touch inadequate by now, not to worry. She's surprisingly low-maintenance, and not so surprisingly straightforward, as proven by her Protocol.
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Stretch and cuddle with my dog!
Describe your morning and evening skincare routines.
I wash my face before applying anything. I then use rich moisturizers like the U Beauty SUPER Hydrator, under-eye cream, and face oils. I repeat the process three times a day if I’m not wearing makeup; otherwise, just twice. I like to keep it simple and easy when it comes to my skincare routine.
Do you have a fitness routine? If yes, what are your objectives/goals when you work out?
I work out with my trainer Tom once a week, mostly via FaceTime these days. We do a light and targeted workout, focusing mostly on legs and abs. I like to feel toned and in good shape, but I’m definitely not a fitness fanatic!
Have you tried any in-office cosmetic procedures (lasers, fillers, microneedling, etc.)?
I have tried microneedling and it felt way too invasive for my skin, so I try to stay away from that and lasers, too.
Which procedures do you love, and which would you never try (or never try again!)?
I love a good non-invasive facial, and I recently tried the cryo facial and I really loved it. Dry contouring is also one of my favorites.
What’s your diet like on a typical day?
I eat twice a day. The first meal would most likely be a smoothie or a salad at around noon or one; the second at 5:30 or 6pm, and it’s usually pasta or ice cream. I’m Italian, after all!
What's the last thing you do before you go to bed?
Meditate or at least try, although sometimes I feel so tired. I also pet my dog and think about something important or special in my life that I either want or love.
Who’s your beauty idol?
Margot Robbie. She’s a golden one.
What’s the most high-maintenance aspect of your beauty protocol?
Honestly, none!
What’s the best piece of beauty advice you’ve gotten?
Always take your makeup off. I know it’s a simple one, but you’d be surprised to hear how many people don’t do it.
What’s your 24-hour plan for getting ready for a big event or photoshoot?
I eat less the few days before, I put on a face mask before getting makeup-ready, and I stay very hydrated.
I get a massage. I take naps. I meditate. I listen to classical music. I read poetry.
